Brave battles at Bilbao

Vachier-Lagrave - Aronian

What a witty title, I know! The Chess Masters Final is taking place right now at Bilbao, Spain, with four top players competing against each other. I took a look at the games yesterday and I found one especially intriguing, the game of Maxime Vachier-Lagrave against Levon Aronian. Particularly, the variation with three queens on the board caught my attention. I hope I evoked your curiosity, here is my analysis:

These kind of games are the most exciting and interesting games to analyze. Both players have their chances, time scramble mixes things up and eventually the player wins, who makes the second last mistake ;)

Worth noticing, there are two other top tournaments going on right now, the Russian Superfinal and the Kings Tournament in Rumania. Check them out ;)
